Given all of the factors above and more, other thinking was that - why not try it out? We are in the tech industry and this is the only place where jobs are well distributed and an engineer can pretty much do the same job as done in US. This becomes especially true if you have a team back in India working along with you - change is much smaller, as was in my case.
So, the thinking was - why not try it out? If things really don't work out, we can get back to US - assuming there is a job market and conditions are still good. But, there is a risk in any type of change.
